Code Tables

There are several code tables that are used by both HST Practice Management and HST eChart and there are several tables specific to HST eChart. Many of the HST eChart tables are pre-populated with options that can be made inactive at the Center's discretion.

The most important step in code tables is to create the entry description as it should display in HST eChart. Do not use all capital letters or abbreviations (unless approved by Center Policy). Once an entry has been used in a chart it may not be deleted.

 

Note: tables circled in red are specifically important to HST eChart set up.

 

Center Tables

Allergy Reaction: supplies type ahead search field in Allergies BLOC for reaction.

Body site: supplies multiple type ahead search fields for site in many BLOCs including Medication Administration, Physician and Anesthesia Orders, Positioning Aids, Equipment – Radiology, Implant Log, Specimens, Dressing, Drains/Packing Assessment, Drains/Packing Placement, Dressing Assessment, Equipment Laser, Equipment Tourniquet, Prep, Prophylactic Antibiotic Administration, Regional Anesthesia, Tourniquet, and Vitals Anesthesia – The Graph (1 and 2). This information can also feed into the Drains/Packing Removal BLOC as a read only field.

Cancel Reason: supplies type ahead search field Cancel Reason in the Cancel Case BLOC.

Document Type: used to identify documents stored in Document Central and viewed in eChart. This field is used to identify the Document Type in the Document and Document Display BLOCs.

Lab: supplies type ahead search field in Specimens BLOC for lab where specimen is sent.

Lab Test: provides a list of lab tests to select from when documenting specimens in the Specimens BLOC

Laryngoscope Blade: list loads to a drop-down selection for blade in the General Anesthesia and General Anesthesia (2) BLOCs

Late Start Reason: in conjunction with Admin settings in HST eChart, can be used to track Late Start Reason in the Room In BLOC in the Intra-Op Workflow

O2 Delivery Type: supplies type ahead search for O2 delivery type in Oxygen Therapy (Detailed) BLOC.

Patient Location: supplies a list of locations/rooms for the Location/Room field in the Room In BLOCs used in clinical workflows. These locations are also used in the Clinical Patient Locator and the Public Patient Display.

Position: list loads to a drop-down selection for Patient Position in the Positioning BLOC. This position selection also appears as read-only information in the Anesthesia Care BLOC.

Position Aid Type: supplies type ahead search field for Positioning Aid Type in the Positioning Aids BLOC.

Route: used for route documentation in a number of type ahead fields included in the following BLOCs: Medication Administration, Physician and Anesthesia Orders, Prophylactic Antibiotic Administration, Solutions, and Vitals Anesthesia – The Graph (1 and 2).

Sterilizer: supplies type ahead search for the Sterilizer field in the Instrument Sterilization BLOC.

Sterilizer Container: supplies type ahead search for the Sterilization Container field in the Instrument Sterilization BLOC.

Transport Type: supplies type ahead search for the Transport Via/Transported Via fields in the Room In BLOC, Room Out BLOC, and the Discharge Status BLOC.

Unit of Measure: used when setting up the usage UOM in the Physician Preference Cards in HST Practice Management. This affects what will appear in the Supplies Used BLOC in HST eChart.

 

Enterprise Tables

Anesthesia Type: can be used when scheduling the procedure in HST Practice Management and will appear in the patient appointment tap and hold on the HST eChart schedule, the patient header bar at the top of the chart, in the Planned Anesthesia field(s) in the Anesthesia Pre-operative Physical Assessment and in the Primary Anesthesia Type/Secondary Anesthesia Type fields in the Vitals Anesthesia – The Graph (1 & 2) BLOCs. In the aforementioned BLOCs, this list supplies a drop-down lists in those fields where the anesthesia provider can change the anesthesia type(s) if needed.

EHR Unit of Measure: this is used to populate all dose UOM fields in all medication administration BLOCs and Orders BLOCs.

Employee Type: supplies the type ahead search field for Staff Role in the Staff BLOC

Laser Device Power Unit of Measure: list loads to a drop-down selection for Power Units in the Equipment Laser BLOC.

Time Unit of Measure: list loads to drop-down selections for Frequency and Duration Units in the Equipment Laser BLOC.
